Piers Bocock

  • Piers Bocock, US and UK dual nationality, MBA, BA has a career that spans nearly 20 years, Bocock initially worked in communications and subsequently in web-based communications, knowledge management and IT. He has experience from a wide range of institutions from consulting companies to USAID projects.

    He was previously Director of a large USAID-funded Knowledge Management project called Knowledge for Health, based at Johns Hopkins University (www.k4health.org). In this role his primary responsibility was to lead a team of more than 40 to share accurate, up-to-date knowledge and KM practices and platforms to strengthen a variety of public health efforts, while also building across-the-board capacity in KM for USAID partners.

    In addition to working for the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Center for Communication Programs, Bocock was the Senior Director for Communications and Knowledge Exchange at Management Sciences for Health (MSH), and a Senior Development Specialist at Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI). He has also taught on the subject of Knowledge Management for Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. Bocock has a track record as a visionary leader and manager, particularly in projects focused on “research-into-use.”
